Huang Yaqiong: China’s Mixed Doubles Legend

Huang Yaqiong, born on February 28, 1994, in Quzhou, China, is a badminton icon renowned for her mastery in mixed doubles. A three-time BWF World Champion (2018, 2019, 2022), two-time Asian Games gold medalist (2018, 2022), and Olympic gold medalist at Paris 2024, Huang, alongside partner Zheng Siwei, dominated the global stage. Their unbeaten run to the 2024 Olympic title, defeating South Korea’s Kim Won-ho and Jeong Na-eun 21–8, 21–11, marked the pinnacle of her career, following a silver at Tokyo 2020. Huang also claimed the prestigious All England Open in 2017 with Lu Kai and 2019 with Zheng, earning BWF Female Player of the Year honors in 2018 and 2019.
